Hey, what did the teacher do to provoke the student? We all know the teacher is always at fault.
(That is what the current political climate is saying and I recently called out my principal for implying something like this. Of course he denied meaning it, but we all knew what he meant. He is one of the good guys too so imagine what the others are saying.)
Yesterday there was almost fight in my room. I stayed far away and called for help. They don't pay me enough to get in the middle of all that.

There are about 70 different reasons why merit pay is a terrible idea; this is just one of them.
I hope the teacher brings civil charges against the family, too, for medical bills and lost wages. SO not okay.
