Schools are closed!

We haven't had a snow day or ice day in years - but the school's are closed today. We have had so much rain that roads are flooded.

Woopee! Back to bed!

Wow, I've heard of snow days, but never rain days.

I'm from the desert of West Texas, now I live in Central Texas in a town with 2 rivers. I am told there is frequent flooding in the fall. It kind of scares me because I am not used to that kind of weather. The other day we received 5.5 inches of rain in 3 hours. The average rainfall in my former town was about 12" per year.

Maybe I'll get a rain day soon too!

We have another today. We have received a foot of rain since Saturday = the roads are washing out, some areas have no electricity, there are boil water orders, and, unfortunately, people have died.

We had a drought for 4 years, we have clay soil, and there is nowhere for the rain to go.

Most of the creeks are rivers and the rivers are all at flood stage.

It seems so off to see rescue by boat.

Paulding.com is like a party line so it is interesting to read (and better than the local news). http://www.paulding.com/tvshow/pcomfun.html gives you a steady slideshow.

Since I drive in the dark, I am worried about whenever I do go since roads are failing.
