Hurricane Irene should come ashore at Morehead City, NC in the next few hours. She is a category 2,may downgrade to a 1, still going to be a lot of "sound and fury".
I hope all my friends and relations along the East Coast get needed rain but no trauma.
It's a great day to make a big pot of chili and plan to eat that for a while!!

Hear, hear, all of us here in Europe are thinking of you all over there.
Fingers crossed that Irene doesn't cause too much havoc.
Ooooo, I love the chili idea. Beats the hell out of peanut butter and jelly. Thanks
Ron, during a bad snow storm I had started making spaghetti sauce in the morning - and we lost electricity. (It was out for 4 hours but some parts of the area were out for 4 days). I figured we had enough propane to cook one batch of noodles - and I was ready to eat spaghetti sauce as chili. Ended up being ok.
I'm watching her (Irene) bring some much needed rain to us here in central NC. Thinking our coastal friends, too!
I love making chili when the weather is bad! great idea :)
Many people talking about the weather today. So scary :(
Love your words....and the chili....sounds great too!
Yes, rain is good...but hurricanes ...not so much! I pray that people in the path will find shelter.

I agree with your formatting post and I hope you enjoy your weekend!
We were on the western edge of the storm so not a huge deal here. The power stayed on despite flickering frequently. Thinking of those who were hit more directly.
