invisibility

I have officially reached invisibility.

It is a bit depressing.

Don't be depressed; use it to your advantage. Remember that Harry couldn't have done a ton of fun stuff if he didn't have his invisibility cloak!

I know it is hard, but just think, invisible people can't be picked on and can't be given extra work.

To me, you are alive and vibrant as ever. I am sure your students feel the same way.

Sometimes it's good to be invisible - keep your head under the radar!

Cathartic thought for the drive in: I will teach probably no more than 5 more years.

As a manager, if I were trying to build a strong math department (calculus, AP Stat, the new Common Core) would I invest in me, with no more than 5 years left, or someone younger who might teach another 10 or more years?

Now, as a pragmatist, those young ones (they are good teachers and have taught 5 or more years) are young enough that most are recently married. Odds are, they are about to get distracted with babies.

Personally, that is a good thing. I love mine. How would that play in the arena called work?

Two of us want to teach AP stat. Other teacher has more teaching time but is new to the school. I have put in a lot of time with repeaters.

Maybe I will invest a lot in my invisibility cloak. (Thanks, all of you!!)
