The economy isn't good - we all know that. It hits a little closer when your students start transferring away from the school because they have lost their homes - and are moving in with friends.
I hope they persevere.

Unfortunately, we are probably going to see more people, not fewer, losing their homes and having to move in with friends and away from familiar places. The economy is still ailing and, according to some analysts, won't regain its health for some time yet.
I know - this has hit us hard. I won't share why - nor will I with the students - but I keep stressing that they cannot let temporary circumstances derail their entire lives.
On the good news, my own child has taken this to heart and has gotten into the school of his/her (vbg) dreams!
