one thing I have learned is that we only see these kids 55 minutes a day. In that time you show them that you care and are there for them. But after that...they need to make their own choices.
I learned pretty early on not to get too attached to them because after 4 years they are gone and chances are you will never know what became of them. Of course they don't realize the investment you put into them, so you really can't blame it all on them.

You can't help them all. Think of the ones you did reach.
Ricochet, don't be too hard on yourself. By the time you get the student, the poor person has been failed in so many ways. Just keep trying.
