It was - until the next day when the principal came into my room (no kids around) and reamed me out. He has yelled at 5 people that I know about this week - my guess is he is under stress - which doesn't aleviate mine. He was charming today.
Management by intimidation was a style in the 80's - didn't work then either.
I had several kids I thought I couldn't reach come up to me on their own that day and ask for help (I want to pass. How can I pass? - I keep getting in trouble [with other teachers] why?) and that balance out the reaming. Somewhat.

I'm fortunate (finally!) to be in a school where reaming teachers out is something that the principal refuses to do.
