Six Word Saturday

Blackberry winter - it's cold out there.

For more Six Word Saturday participants, click here.

I had never heard the term Blackberry Winter until this week. Just like spring was early, this phenomena (which usually happens in May) is early. The weather turns cold, which the blackberries love and spring (probably summer) is about 2 weeks away.

Even mother nature wants a redo periodically.

I have never heard of that either. Yes, out of nowhere it is very cool here. It has been like SUMMER already. Temps in the 80's -- humid, storms. Now I have turned the AC to heat. Ha.

Did you look up Blackberry Winter? I was surprised to find it wasn't a local thing.

My husband has fond memories of picking blackberries as a child, and to this day they remain his favorite fruit for pies and cobblers. I'll have to ask him if he is familiar with this term, it certainly sounds much nicer than the dour predictions of Puxtawany Phil! :-)) It won't be long now, Spring is definitely on the way! Here in Texas days are already in the high 80s and soon we'll began to grumble about the heat. :-)
