Am I wrong? I would absolutely refuse to do some of the things the article reports teachers doing.
I have bought my own paper in the past, but NO, I will not buy pencils for example. What happened to getting the parents' buy-in?
People presume that a teacher will cover every gap. Give up their paycheck. Give up their free time.
How about *parents* volunteering a few hours a week to clean up/ fix up/ lend a hand?
These are their children and they need to show the students that if the govt doesn't value education enough to fund it, the parents will do what it takes to educate their children.
